Speech-Language Pathology Summer Clinic
Pediatric Diagnostic Clinic (Children 3 years-13 years)
Individual Appointments Available July 1st, 2019 through July 12, 2019
Offers individualized appointments for children between the ages of 3 years-13 years of age who are seeking evaluation in the areas of speech-language delays and disorders, speech sound disorders, or social communication disorders. Parents and/or caregivers must be present for the entirety of evaluation.
INTERACT (Children 8-13 years)
July 15, 2019- July 19, 2019
Interact, the social skills clinic is designed to improve the social communication skills for children with diagnoses such as autism spectrum disorders/Asperger’s, ADHD, and/or mild language impairments. Attendees will learn by participating in group-based learning within a variety of social contexts. The clinic is best suited for children who are functionally conversational in home and social environments. Clinic activities will incorporate individualized goals based upon each attendee’s specific needs.
CHAMPS (Children 5-12 years)
July 22, 2019- July 26, 2019
CHAMPS, the speech sound disorder clinic, is designed to improve intelligibility in children with diagnoses related to speech sound disorders (childhood apraxia of speech, articulation/phonology disorder). Attendees will learn by talking and discovering in an engaging environment that is speech sound-based.
BLOOM (Children 3-6 years)
July 29, 2019- August 02 2019
The Early Language Clinic is designed to improve individual speech and language functioning for children with diagnoses related to language acquisition (language delay/disorder, expressive language delay, etc.). Attendees will learn by participating in group and individual communication activities in an engaging environment. The goal of the clinic is to improve the communication abilities with adults and same-age peers in order to prepare themselves to be successful in mainstream preschool or kindergarten classrooms.
