Developed and implemented an 80 hour research curriculum for the US Army Physician Assistant post-graduate doctoral training programs which resulted in the successful thesis defense of 89 Doctor of Science candidates over an 8 year period for the US Army-Baylor University Doctor of Science Programs. This curriculum is still in use today.
|Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Studies -
7 years experience as teaching faculty in the US Army-Baylor University Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Residency Program, an 18 month residency in Emergency Medicine for Physician Assistants, culminating in a Doctor of Science in PA Studies with a concentration in Emergency Medicine.
|Operational Medicine -
23 years of operational medical experience with the US Army, as a Special Operations medic, and then Physician Assistant. Deployments to multiple continents across the globe, totaling 5 years to hostile and austere locations, in multiple environmental conditions.
|Trauma Resuscitation and Surgery -
Team Leader of a mobile surgical element supporting joint operational task forces from 2004-2012. Planned and conducted medical training and operations in the continental US and deployed forward to combat environments. Additional duties as research and development officer for medical doctrine, equipment, training and development for techniques, which have been implemented throughout the US Army. Projected budgets and unit manning for current and future operations. Responsible for maintaining medical equipment and supplies in excess of 3 million dollars.
