Medical Laboratory Sciences faculty position
The Medical Laboratory Sciences Program in the Department of Health Sciences at the UT Health San Antonio invites applications for a full-time (12 month) faculty position.
Primary responsibilities are:
- Teach upper division undergraduate and graduate lecture and laboratory courses in immunohematology and other clinical laboratory specialties dependent on expertise and education.
- Participate in curriculum and program development, implementation, evaluation and revision.
- Engage in collaborative or independent scholarly activities with the potential for publication in recognized peer-reviewed journals and external funding.
- Participate in professional and University service activities and faculty practice plan as appropriate.
Qualified candidates must have:
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, MLS(ASCP); minimum of master's degree in a MLS-appropriate discipline with Specialist in Blood Bank (SBB) and Ph.D. preferred; and teaching experience in an academic-based NAACLS-accredited medical laboratory science education program.
Salary, rank, and track (tenure or non-tenure) are commensurate with education and experience.
The Medical Laboratory Sciences Program has a NAACLS-approved medical laboratory sciences program with BS and entry-level MS in MLS programs of study. The Department of Health Sciences is one of five departments in the School of Health Professions. In addition to the School of Health Professions, the UT Health San Antonio also has a Medical School, Dental School, Nursing School, and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.
