Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy Ana Allegretti, Ph.D., ATP, OTR, has been appointed as an associate editor for two assistive technology journals.

Allegretti learned this fall that she has been invited to be an associate editor for the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA) Assistive Technology Journal. In September, Allegretti also began serving as an associate editor for Cadernos Brasileiros de Terapia Ocupacional/Brazilian Journal of Occupational Therapy. She has served as a peer reviewer for both journals.

“It’s a great honor to be in that position, to be seen as an expert in the field and to be able to make a final decision to make sure that an article or paper will contribute to the science,” she said.

Associate Professor and Department Chair Bridgette Piernik-Yoder, Ph.D., OTR, said the appointments reflect well on Allegretti’s accomplishments in the profession and on the Department of Occupational Therapy.

“Dr. Allegretti’s selection as an associate editor reflects the international reputation she has attained, as well as the increased profile for the Department,” Piernik-Yoder said. “It is a wonderful recognition of her expertise and very important service to our global profession of occupational therapy.”
