Doctor of Physical Therapy Early Acceptance Program (DPTEAP) Admission Requirements
The student can apply after completion of 30 semester credit hours (SCH) in their program of study for Biology or Kinesiology (Kinesiology and Health Sciences Concentration) at UTSA. Applications have to be submitted on or before the completion of 75 SCH at UTSA in the student's program of study.
Applications and support materials will be reviewed by the DPTEAP selection committee, which consists of faculty from UT Health San Antonio and UTSA. In addition to the academic criteria, the following may be considered in selecting students for admissions to the DPTEAP:
- Work experience
- Honors and awards
- Extracurricular activities
- Interest in health professions
- Community/volunteer service
Eligible applicants must be full-time UTSA students majoring in Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology or Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology (Kinesiology and Health Science Concentration) who have completed at least 30 semester credit hours (SCH) of coursework at UTSA in their program of study.
Minimum overall UTSA GPA ≥ 3.6 and a GPA of ≥ 3.6 in all college science/math coursework (unless only one science or math course has been taken). For students to maintain eligibility in the DPTEAP program, students must complete the first three years of the curriculum in either the BS in Biology program or the BS in Kinesiology (Kinesiology and Health Science Concentration) program, including the core curriculum requirements at UTSA with an overall GPA ≥ 3.6 and a cumulative GPA ≥ 3.6 in all math and sciences coursework.
