John Bojanski

John Bojanski   Class of 2019

John Bojanski is a second-year physician assistant student from Laredo, Texas. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology from Texas A&M International University in 2015 and was a science teacher before pursuing PA school.

He was first introduced to careers in health care through the UT Health Med Ed program while in middle school. Throughout high school and his undergraduate studies, John had the privilege to shadow doctors, residents, PAs, and NPs. While shadowing a sports medicine physician assistant in Laredo, John knew that he had found his calling. The flexibility, opportunities, and ability to facilitate greater access to care for South Texas communities is what inspired John to pursue this career.

John chose UT Health San Antonio because of its vision of improving the health and wellness of South Texans. The faculty is focused on the success of students and truly cares about how students are doing academically and in their personal life. Being part of a health science center has also provided many opportunities to learn from and interact with students from other health professions.

In the future, John plans on working in a South Texas community to help improve the access to care for patients in medically underserved areas. Additionally, he would like to contribute to higher education in the PA profession and mentor the future PAs of Texas.
John enjoys spending time with family and friends. Fishing, exercising, football and basketball are some of his favorite activities.
