Madison R. Ashley

Madison Ashley is a second-year physician assistant studies student. She was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and received her bachelor’s degree in Biology and a minor in Business Administration from Baylor University in 2016.

She always knew that she wanted to do something in the medical field, and for a long period of time that only meant to become an M.D., until her mom saw a PA at her doctor’s office and told her about this great alternative with a shorter timeline.

The reason she chose UT Health San Antonio is that during her interview she experienced the friendliest feeling among current students and faculty and it seemed more like a team effort than a competition. “My interview at UT Health San Antonio was my favorite,” she said.

She is not sure about what field she would like to practice yet, but she and her husband plan to move back to Dallas, TX to be closer to their families after her graduation in December of 2019.

On her few non-studying moments, she likes to cook and watch shows with her husband to wind down after a long day of studying or clinicals. She also likes to exercise with friends from the program to try out fun new restaurants throughout San Antonio.
