Medical Fluoroscopy Training Course

Course Description

Environmental Health & Safety is sponsoring this course as a required Texas Department of State Health Services course for all providers operating fluoroscopy in the clinical facilities.

Who Should Attend?

This activity is designed for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, administrators and healthcare professionals interested or involved in medical fluoroscopy. 

Learning Objectives

  • The learner will list the required radiation protection principles in the clinic.
  • The learner will identify or state the risk or biological effects to the patients.
  • The learner will be able to identify the dose reduction techniques, the high level control options, and the site specific procedures for the institution.

Continuing Medical Education Credit

The Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine designates this live activity up to a maximum of 8.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) accepts certificates of attendance for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by the ACCME.

Healthcare professionals receiving a certificate of attendance should consult with their licensing board for information on applicability and acceptance.
