Associate Professor
Dr. Nijland obtained his BA and PhD from Witwatersrand University in South Africa. He undertook post-doctoral research at the University of California Riverside between 1989-1992. He was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UCLA from 1995-2002 before joining the research group at Cornell. He moved with the group 10 New York University in 2002 as an Associate Professor. He joined our full-time faculty in the fall of 2004. His interests include the development of the fetal cardiovascular system and regulation of blood pressure and salt and water balance between mother and child.
