Researcher profile

Michael W Odom, M.D.

Professor

Department of Pediatrics of Pediatrics

I developed a reading elective for 2nd- and 3rd-year Pediatric residents to enhance their knowlege of Neonatal-Perinatal medicine. The resident is required to read a number of fundamental references and then meet with me twice weekly to discuss the assigned material. To further enhance the resident`s understanding of these readings, I developed questions and selected case studies which the resident completes prior to our meetings. This curriculum should be useful in the future both as a reading elective and for teaching sessions with residents during their rotations in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit.
