Department of Orthopaedics

Dr. Robert Quinn is currently tenured professor and chair of the department of orthopaedic surgery at UT Health San Antonio. He specializes in musculoskeletal oncology. Dr. Quinn received his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine. He completed an orthopaedic residency at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine followed by a fellowship in orthopaedic oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School. He is a current fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Quinn is a member of several professional societies including the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society, American Orthopaedic Association, Association of Bone and Joint Surgeons, Connective Tissue Oncology Society, the International Society of Limb Salvage, and the Wilderness Medical Society.

Dr. Quinn has numerous publications including peer-reviewed journal articles, textbook chapters, and textbook. Dr. Quinn has held multiple leadership positions in national organizations including President Musculoskeletal Tumor Society, Chair Council on Research and Quality American Academy of Othopaedic Surgeons, President Wilderness Medical Society. He has also served on a number of national and international committees. He is a consultant reviewer for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research. He is a member of several multidisciplinary research groups including the Children’s Oncology Group, Southwestern Oncology Group, Radiation Oncology Group, American College of Surgeon’s Oncology Group and International Ewing’s Sarcoma Research Forum.
