Undergraduate teaching is my primary focus. I teach clinical and didactic in three core undergraduate nursing courses each semester. The Pathophysiology course is a 45 hr course addressing the basics of human pathophysiology. The Adult II (acute care) course consists of 135 clinical hours and the Leadership and Management course consists of 135 clinical hours. Both courses are team-taught which allows for a variety of teaching styles and clinical backgrounds to enrich student learning. Additionally, I am the course coordinator for the 4316 Adult II clinical course. I have also served for numerous years as the liaison for the Adult II teaching team and the Skills Lab, coordinating a 3-day Skills Fair for up to 130 students each semester. I practiced in the intensive care setting in Medical and Cardiac ICU setting at University Hospital Medical Center until February 2015 and I continue to actively teach students in the clinical setting at Methodist hospital. Both recent practice and current clinical engagement enhance my ability to lecture, promote credibility in the clinical setting when interacting with students, and support realistic clinical application.
