Diana Cavazos, PhD, MHSA, MSN, CMI, BSN, RN

Assistant Professor/Clinical

Dr. Cavazos is an accomplished Registered Nurse who has been in academia since 2009 and is currently Assistant Clinical Professor at UT Health School of Nursing in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Cavazos has worked with multicultural populations, focusing efforts on Hispanic communities struggling with migrant issues, intimate partner violence against women, victims of human trafficking, and homelessness. She currently serves in the National Association of Hispanic Nurses San Antonio Chapter Board of Directors and serves as the Advisor for UTHSCSA School of Nursing Hispanic Student Nurses Association. Dr. Cavazos has started working with the University of Texas’ harm reduction program to help the communities affected by opioid abuse and concurrently works along Street Medicine San Antonio caring for homeless patients and their health needs. 

Dr. Cavazos is a proud mother of two young adults and has lived in San Antonio since 2014. She has traveled the world to expand her cultural awareness and is constantly looking for opportunities to help her community.

    Dr. Cavazos has been in academia since 2009 and is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at UT Health School of Nursing in San Antonio, Texas. She received her PhD in Education from the International Iberoamerican University in Campeche, Mexico, her MSN from the University of Puerto Rico, her MHSA from Southwest University in Louisiana, her BSN from Interamerican University of Puerto Rico and is a certified medical interpreter since 2015.
