An accomplished educator with 39 years of experience in the practice and art of nursing. I joined the UT Health School of Nursing faculty in January 2013. My teaching experiences have been exclusively in the adult medical/surgical courses - both theory and clinical. My clinical background is focused primarily in the adult critical care area. I earned a BSN and MS in Nursing from the University of North Dakota. In addition to these degrees I have formal training in Neurosurgical and Trauma nursing and I hold national certification in critical care nursing (CCRN-K). During my nursing career I have held positions as clinical nurse, nurse manager, nurse educator, and nurse executive. I am a United States Air Force veteran who, in addition to multiple assignments, served as the intensive care unit nurse manager in a forward deployed combat hospital in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
