Courses Taken Pass/Fail:
Prerequisite courses are taken as “pass/fail” or “credit/no credit” during Spring 2020, Summer 2020, or Fall 2020 terms can be accepted as long as the course is passed and credit is earned. Classes taken this way will not be included in the cumulative or prerequisite GPA. Failed courses will not be accepted, but will be included in GPA calculation.
The TEAS exam has been reinstated as an admissions requirement for all applicants to our May 2022 Accelerated BSN program and all future Traditional and Accelerated BSN programs.
All applicants are required to take the current version of the ATI TEAS exam. UT Health San Antonio School of Nursing only accepts the in-person method of the exam. Applicants may take the exam within the following cycles:
• August 2 to February 1
• February 2 to August 1
The TEAS exam can be taken in either cycle as long as we receive the score by the admissions deadline. If an applicant has taken the TEAS exam multiple times, we will only accept the first score within the most recent cycle that the applicant has tested.
Applicants must request that ATI sends the official TEAS score report to the "U of TX Health San Antonio." Scores must be received by the admissions deadline.
Minimum GPAs & Test Scores
• Prerequisite GPA: 3.0
• TEAS Score: 65
In addition to meeting our GPA and TEAS score requirements, applicants must complete all math and science prerequisites before submitting an application. Applicants must follow our Application Instructions and follow NursingCAS procedures. All materials must be received by the application deadline. Students with foreign college credit must also follow our Foreign Coursework Instructions.
