MSN Admission Requirements

The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is a Master’s program for students who have a BSN degree. Available majors are Administrative Management and Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL).

Application Deadlines

Fall 2019: February 1, 2019

Minimum GPA

GPA from Last 60 Hours of College Coursework: 3.0

Application and Fees

All Nursing programs at UT Health San Antonio require a completed NursingCAS application to be submitted before the deadline.

All fees are accessed through the NursingCAS application and must be paid by the deadline

  • Office of Admissions Fee: $45
  • NursingCAS Fee: Determined by NursingCAS

Requirements

The MSN program requires a BSN degree from a CCNE, ACEN, or NLNAC accredited program. Additionally, applicants must currently hold licensure as an RN in Texas, or hold a compact license with multi-state privileges that includes Texas.

All MSN applicants will be required to submit three professional references with their NursingCAS application. In addition, candidates for graduate admissions will be invited to interview and submit a writing sample.

The admissions application, NursingCAS fee, and official transcripts are due to NursingCAS by the application deadline. Please submit official transcripts of all attended schools to:

  • The application deadline for the Masters Degree and Post-Graduate Certificates has been extended to February 15, 2018 for fall entry.
