Post-Graduate Certificate

A Post-Graduate Certificate option is available for MSN prepared nurses desiring a secondary specialization. Available specializations include:

  • Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
  • Family Nurse Practitioner 
  • Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
  • Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Total semester credit hours required for the Post-Graduate Certificate vary by track. Sample degree plans are available on the UT Health San Antonio catalog.

Program at a glance

Requirements

  • MSN degree from a CCNE, ACEN, or NLNAC accredited program
  • Licensure as an RN in Texas or compact license with multi-state privileges that includes Texas
  • Graduate or advanced courses in Health Assessment, Pathophysiology, and Pharmacology with a grade of B or better
  • Three professional references with their NursingCAS application
