Programs

  • Patient Advocate

Our advocate assists patients and families during their time at the cancer center. We will share compliments and concerns with our staff and follow up promptly with you to be sure that your suggestions are dealt with in a timely and respectful manner.

  • Volunteers

Our volunteers bring solace, hope, and joy to the patients and families who come to the center. We have several different volunteer opportunities that cover a variety of interests.

  • Survivorship

Our Give Cancer the Boot Survivorship 5K Run/Walk is a chance to celebrate and honor cancer survivors while raising awareness about the survival rates for many types of cancer.

  • Community Outreach

The cancer center sponsors several symposia, lectures and research conferences that are open to the public. Our virtual tumor boards help doctors across South Texas discuss cancer diagnoses.

If I can help anyone, that’s my main goal. My doctors and the UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center have become like family. Michelle Sands, Soul Friend volunteer and cancer survivor
