Dr. Robert Gilson is a faculty member of the division of dermatology. He has a special interest in contact dermatitis. Dr. Gilson leads the patch testing and phototherapy services for the practice. He completed his initial residency in internal medicine in 1991, and practiced general internal medicine for five years. He specialized and completed his residency in dermatology at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium in 1999. Dr. Gilson has held several of teaching roles over his 21 year military career, serving as dermatology residency program director the last four years while at SAUSHEC.
Upon retirement from the military in 2009, he joined the Health Science Center faculty. He has a special interest in contact dermatitis and leads the patch testing and phototherapy services for the practice. He enjoys medical dermatology and teaching and practices both general dermatology and surgical/procedural dermatology.
