Our dental hygienist teaching practice offers reduced-fee patient care services to help adults and children prevent tooth decay, cavities (caries), gingivitis, receding gums, periodontal disease and other dental diseases. We offer non-surgical periodontal therapy, such as scaling and root planing, to clean the tooth structure. Our dental hygienists check for gum disease, promote good dental hygiene, and offer cavity preventative measures, such as sealants.
Our student dental hygienists, supervised by faculty and practice supervisors, can perform periodontal assessments, comprehensive dental exams, oral cancer screenings, tobacco cessation and nutritional counseling. We also perform X-rays and our students can apply sealants to teeth to prevent cavities and tooth decay.
