To become a patient in the School of Dentistry's Student Clinic, patients must first have a mandatory screening appointment to determine if a patient’s treatment requirements are appropriate for student care. To make a screening appointment, please call 210-450-3700 or request an appointment online.

Due to scheduling limitations in the screening clinic, screening appointments require a $50 payment at the time of the appointment booking. This payment covers the cost of the screening and associated radiography. Dental insurance is not accepted in the Student Clinic.

During the screening appointment, patients will receive preliminary advisement of their dental needs. A screening does not guarantee an appointment in our Student Clinic. Patients with dental needs that do not align with the care provided by our student dentists will be referred to the appropriate clinic within UT Dentistry that can best address the oral health care required.

Once accepted as a patient of record with the Student Clinic, the patient will be assigned to a dental student who will manage their oral health care under the direct supervision of dental school faculty members.
