Dr. Issa Sasa earned his bachelor of dental surgery degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology in 1991. In 1992, he was awarded a Fulbright scholarship and earned his pediatric dentistry certificate and master’s of science degrees from the University of Iowa.
In 2003, he became American Board certified in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Sasa has several publications and has lectured extensively. He is the recipient of the 2005/2006 American Academy of Continuing Medical Education Outstanding Speaker of the Year Award.
In 2007, he joined UT Health San Antonio as an associate clinical professor and pre-doctoral program director of Pediatric Dentistry in the Developmental Dentistry Department. Dr. Sasa is the Director of the Ricardo Salinas Pediatric Dental Clinic. He is involved in multiple clinical research projects in areas of non-pharmacologic behavior management, pediatric dental restorative materials, and cariology.
