UT Health San Antonio's infectious disease practice is staffed by board certified and fellowship trained physicians with extensive experience in preparing patients for international travel. We also care for patients who have become ill while traveling abroad.

Vaccination advisement for international travel

Our infectious disease specialists will advise you regarding the vaccinations specifically required prior to travel to your destination. They will also help you stay healthy by providing medication to prevent malaria if needed, and advice to help you avoid contraction of other illnesses such as Zika, dengue fever and traveler's diarrhea.

This practice is dedicated to helping our patients stay healthy throughout their travel and upon return. Should a person become ill while traveling abroad, they can rely on our infectious disease specialist’s extensive experience in diagnosing and treating all types of bacterial, fungal, parasitic and viral infections.

We offer patients access to one of the most advanced testing laboratories in the world where we are able to perform testing to determine the type of infection and implement a successful treatment plan.

Travelers can rely on our dedication to preventing disease, our ongoing research, and access to modern technology.
