Spinal Orthoses

Physician looking at x-ray of a spine

Orthotists at UT Health San Antonio provide comprehensive orthotic treatment for a wide variety of pathologies and levels of spinal injury. Custom fabricated orthoses may be considered based on the patient’s unique requirements.

Spinal orthoses are used to restrict mobility and provide the support needed to allow injuries to heal, reduce pain, and prevent progression of deformity. Orthoses are also often used to provide support to the spine following surgery. Your orthotist will perform an individualized evaluation to determine which spinal orthosis design is best for you. All orthoses are custom fit to the patient to ensure optimal fit and function.
