Upon completion of the field training program, new officers will be assigned to one of three shifts in the patrol division.
The shifts and officers’ days off rotate every four months to ensure fairness across the shifts. The three shifts are staggered as follows:
- Daylight shift: 6 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Swing shift: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
- Night shift: 8 p.m. – 6 a.m.
Our department has a number of specialized divisions, including:
- Criminal Investigations
- Crime Prevention Unit
- Police instructor (TCOLE Instructor)
- Bike Patrol
- Mental Health Unit
