Metabolism Study Seeking Volunteers

The Sam & Ann Barshop Institute for Longevity & Aging Studies is seeking volunteers for a research study on how probiotic (good bacteria) or study medication (sevelamer/placebo) affects gut metabolism and/or inflammation at the cellular level.

You may qualify if you are between the ages of 18-65, are lean or obese without diabetes, or have diabetes but are not taking metformin or insulin. Further qualifying characteristics include the absence of recent heart attack or chronic conditions. Certain medications or medical history details may exclude your ability to participate.

Eligible participants that are enrolled will receive blood work, diabetes testing, physical examination, and compensation for completed visits.
