UT Health San Antonio’s Go Green campus group is hosting an Earth Day celebration from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, April 22, in the Lecture Hall Commons.

Free reusable bamboo straws will be available, and there will be a drawing for a Klean Kanteen stainless steel coffee thermos, a glass water bottle and a book on window box gardening from Whole Earth Provision Co.

Representatives from SAWS, CPS Energy, Westside Development Corp., the National Park Service, Bexar County Master Gardeners, VIA, CoSA Solid Waste Management, CoSA Sustainability Office, Moms Clean Air Force and SA Metro Health will be on hand to spread information about their missions.

Other campus groups participating will include the Safety Office, Briscoe Library, Garden and Health Interest Group, History of Medicine and grounds and maintenance.

Earth Day was founded in 1970 as a day of education about environmental issues and is celebrated worldwide.
