Faculty members take part in healthy mothers, babies conference

Patrick S. Ramsey, M.D., professor of OB/GYN, and Sarah Page-Ramsey, M.D., associate professor of OB/GYN, took part in the 2019 Texas Collaborative for Healthy Mothers and Babies Summit in Austin Jan. 29-30.

Dr. Page-Ramsey discussed the use of simulation at University Hospital to address common obstetric emergencies. Dr. Ramsey moderated several panels on aspects of maternal, fetal and newborn care.

Dr. Ramsey joined UT Health San Antonio in 2014 and serves as the director of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship training program and Director for Maternal Transport and Outreach.

Dr. Page-Ramsey joined the faculty in 2015 after retiring from the Air Force as a lieutenant colonel and obstetrician/gynecologist. A story about her work with OB emergency simulation can be found here.

The Healthy Mothers and Babies conference is organized by UTHealth Tyler and the UT System and funded by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
