Nursing alum receives Distinguished QUESTER Award

Misty Trevino, a UT Health San Antonio nursing alum and a nurse practitioner in the Westover Hills clinic, received the inaugural Distinguished QUESTER Award Nov. 14.

Project QUEST is a San Antonio-based skills training and workforce strategy organization.

Trevino was a teenaged mother working in a minimum wage job when she enrolled in nursing school with financial assistance from Project QUEST, which currently is financially responsible for 75 UT Health San Antonio nursing students.

Project QUEST is a finalist for a $1 million grant from the Communities Thrive Challenge, a collaboration between The Rockefeller Foundation and the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. A video featuring Trevino’s story is supporting Project QUEST’s grant request.
