Resident named APA Citizen Psychologist

Mian-Li Ong

Mian-Li Ong, a clinical psychology resident at UT Health San Antonio, has been named a 2018 APA Citizen Psychologist by the American Psychological Association.

Ong was honored  for his leadership in building an online ecology to raise the accuracy and visibility of psychological knowledge on Wikipedia and Wikiversity. His efforts are combating “fake news” about psychology on a mass scale by improving the quality of publicly accessible psychological information.

The American Psychological Association’s Citizen Psychologist Initiative recognizes APA members who engage their communities through public service, volunteerism and board membership.
