Boerne resident Philip Pfeiffer was on a trip to Argentina in late December when he felt the pain. “I went there for fishing, but how I hurt my knee, I really don’t know,” he said.
So when he returned, Pfeiffer contacted Philip Jacobs, M.D., an orthopaedic surgeon who practices at UT Health Hill Country in Boerne.
“UT Health Hill Country is not just convenient to people in Kendall County, but it also possesses some of the best and latest equipment for expediting testing,” Pfeiffer said. “It is a first-rate facility, easy to get to, and offers a broad spectrum of capabilities to address whatever health issues one might have.”
Pfeiffer is only one of many patients who have discovered the expert care at UT Health Hill Country since the facility opened in March 2017.
The imaging center at UT Health Hill Country has state-of-the-art equipment.
The 19,000-square-foot building, located at 25723 Old Fredericksburg Road in Boerne, (exit 550 – Ralph Fair Road), originally offered primary care, orthopaedics, radiology, physical therapy, urology, behavioral health and lab services.
“Since opening, we’ve added maternal/fetal care and pain management,” said Jeannie Paradise, practice manager at the clinic. “And soon we’re hoping to add additional specialty services. We’re very excited by the opportunity to grow the services out here.”
Dr. Jacobs, the orthopedic surgeon, said the number of retirees in the area means a need for his specialty. In addition to general orthopaedics, his patients need total hip and total knee replacements. “And from a sports medicine standpoint, I’m able to capture the weekend warriors we have in the area,” he added.
Paradise cited primary care as another specialty that’s in demand. “Primary care clinics in this area are bursting at the seams,” she said. “And the need is great. Our family practitioners treat individuals of all ages. We get infants and we serve the aging population as well.”
She added that she’s proud of the role the clinic is playing in the community.
“We have made a special effort to get to know our patients and provide that exceptional care they’re looking for,” Paradise said. “Many of our patients, we treat their entire families. We’re very proud of that culture of exceptional care we’ve managed to create.
“I think we have a beautiful clinic that’s easy to get to, with close parking, that once patients get here and walk through the door, they’re very pleased with the building and the staff culture and their experience here,” she added.
UT Health Hill Country is part of the overall UT Health Physicians practice that includes more than 800 physicians and providers in 140 specialties.
