The Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization will celebrate Bike to Work Day on Friday, May 17. The day encourages people to take a step that positively impacts the economy, public health, the environment and quality of life in San Antonio.
UT Health San Antonio is a sponsoring organization.
As a thank you for participating, bike riders can stop by Bike to Work Day Energizer Stations throughout the city, including one at the corner of Floyd Curl and Medical Drive. Swag bags, coffee and breakfast items will be available at 7 a.m.
National Bike Month is sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists and is celebrated in communities from coast to coast. Established in 1956, National Bike Month is a chance to showcase the many benefits of bicycling — and encourage more folks to give biking a try.
A bicycle is not just for recreation or exercise. It’s a means of transportation. Give it a try on Friday, May 17.
