Our Mission

Henrich

At The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, now called UT Health San Antonio, our mission is to serve the needs of the citizens of Texas, the nation and the world through programs designed to advance education, research and clinical care. In fact, these programs of excellence have propelled this institution to become the chief catalyst of San Antonio’s $37 billion-a-year biosciences and healthcare industry.

I welcome you to this site and encourage your travels within it to become more acquainted with the miracles and milestones that occur on our campuses because of the incredible work of Health Science Center distinguished investigators, dedicated educators and compassionate clinicians. From diligent efforts in the laboratory that have translated into some of the world’s leading treatments for disease – the Palmaz Stent, Vertical Expandable Prosthetic Titanium Rib and EZ-IO – to the largest multi-specialty practice group of physicians in South Texas, UT Health San Antonio is poised to become the finest academic health science center in the country.

Ours is a story of discovery, vision and commitment. We engage our minds and talents, and give from our hearts, to help and heal. We touch the lives of thousands, to serve those in need, close to home and across the globe. And, through it all, our strength is born through a shared commitment to make lives better.

Please journey through our website -- and then consider joining us as we write the next chapter of this remarkable story.
