School of Dentistry

Dental Early Acceptance (3+4) Program Admissions Requirements

The student can apply after 12 hours of college hours, but no more than 30 hours. Applicants will be considered based on academic achievement, standardized test scores, community activities, socioeconomic history, awards, honors, knowledge of the profession and letters of recommendations with a focus primarily on students who would have difficulty in financing a fourth year of college at the undergraduate level as well as four years of professional post-baccalaureate education. Those who successfully complete the program can reduce their education by eliminating one year of undergraduate college tuition and living expenses.

The student interested in dentistry applies when he/she has completed between 12 and 30 hours of college work, and is attending a college or university affiliated with UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry's  Dental Early Acceptance (3+4) Program.

The faculty of the School of Dentistry interview the student to ensure that the student’s motivation for dental studies and his/her character and personality traits indicate potential for success in dentistry. An acceptable interview makes the student eligible for participation in the DEAP program and for admission to the School of Dentistry upon the successful completion of undergraduate requirements.

The deadline to submit an application is March 1st. Interviews will be conducted in April and May.
