Long School of Medicine

Nasrullah Abdurrazaq

About me

I was born in Nigeria. I grew up there. Moved to the United States at the age 16 (in 2011). I started college at Morgan State University Maryland. I then transferred to Texas Tech in 2013 to complete my undergrad in Chemical Engineering. I didn’t decide to do medicine until my final year in college. I took 2 gap years off between undergrad to complete my prerequisites, prepare for the application and also work for a little bit (I worked at a local chemical manufacturing company for a year). I speak 2 languages (Yoruba and English, 3 if you count pidgin English?).

Hobbies/Interests

Animes, Video games, Avid sports fan (soccer and basketball especially), amateur art critic, cooking, and weight lifting.

Topics I feel comfortable talking about

Gap year(s), Engineer or any other non "bio" major switch to medicine, Being a minority in medicine. Just about anything I can help with.

What I hope to gain from this experience

Paying it back is a very big part of who I am and I've always loved doing that either through volunteering or mentoring. I've always done mentoring any chance I get and this is another opportunity for me to continue that.
