Frailty Prevention Study

Seeking Volunteers for Frailty Prevention Study

You may qualify for screening if you are a non-smoker 65 years of age or older, have pre-diabetes and do not currently take metformin, had no recent heart attack or other chronic condition that is not deemed clinically stable. Individuals living independently, not in a nursing home or assisted living facility, are encouraged to participate. 

Participants will receive blood work, diabetes testing, physician examination, and compensation for their time at pre-set milestones. The study consists of outpatient clinic visits every 3 months, prescribed study medication (metformin), and 2-year study duration.
